Lift Up Your Eyes

Lift Up Your Eyes

โ€œAs far as you can see in every direction is the land that I will give to you foreverโ€”to you and your seed.โ€

โ€ญโ€ญGenesisโ€ฌ โ€ญ13โ€ฌ:โ€ญ15โ€ฌ โ€ญTPTโ€ฌโ€ฌ

When God spoke to Abram, He asked him to see. Before Abram could walk the land, before he could inherit the promise, he had to lift his eyes and imagine it. Vision is always the first step of faith.

Jesus echoed this when He said, โ€œI only do what I see the Father doingโ€ (John 5:19). Again and again, He challenged His followers: โ€œDo you not see? Do you not perceive?โ€ (Mark 8:18). Spiritual sight is vital, because faith begins with seeing Godโ€™s promise.

Too often, our imagination becomes the breeding ground of fear, anxiety, and stress. We imagine the worst, play out โ€œwhat ifs,โ€ and rehearse defeat. But what if we surrendered our imagination to God? What if, instead of picturing failure, we pictured His victory? What if we saw the walls of Jericho falling, Goliath collapsing, enemies scattered, and the land of promise already in our possession?

Faith is not blind optimism. It is sight set on Godโ€™s Word. It is choosing to โ€œseeโ€ the outcome God has declared before it arrives. When we dare to lift our eyes, God expands our vision. And when our imagination is filled with His promises, our faith begins to move mountains.

God promises that He will do more than we can ask or imagine (Ephesians 3:20). So dream big. See far. Imagine boldly. Then step forward in faith, because if you can see it, God can bring you into it.

Prayer: Lord, sanctify my imagination. Help me to lift my eyes, to see what You see, and to believe Your promises. Fill me with vision so I can walk in faith. Amen.

I fix my eyes on Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of my faith (Hebrews 12:2). I will not be distracted by what surrounds me or discouraged by what I see in the natural. My focus is on the One who walks on the waves and calms every storm (Matthew 14:29โ€“31).

Even when things seem uncertain, I choose to see through eyes of faith. I believe that God is moving, even when I cannot trace His hand. โ€œFor we walk by faith, not by sightโ€ (2 Corinthians 5:7). I will lift my eyes above fear, confusion, and delay, and behold the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living (Psalm 27:13).

STRONGER: includes a 40 day devotional

This book is all about where we find strength. Jarrod writes that โ€œGod provides us with strength builders along our pathโ€ โ€“ some we need to pick up and use, others will simply happen to us along the way, by a kind of divine providence. But knowing these seasons of muscle building are from heaven (โ€˜cos they usually look like theyโ€™re from hell at first!) is vital to recognising Godโ€™s plan for your resilience.

Now STRONGER comes with an additional 40 day devotional taking you on a journey building attitudes and beliefs that will release divine wisdom and strength in your life. Each day presents you with a scripture, an inspirational short piece to get you thinking, followed by a prayer, action point or declaration.
