Throughout Scripture, whenever God moved powerfully among His people, one thing was restored first—the altar. The altar was the place of sacrifice, devotion, and encounter. It was where heaven touched earth and where God revealed His purposes to His people.

COURSE TYPE: The Altar is designed not merely to be read, but experienced.

This book works beautifully as a small group resource for churches, leadership teams, worship communities, prayer groups, ministry schools and hungry believers who want to journey deeper into the presence of God together. Throughout the book, each chapter ends with discussion questions designed to help groups reflect, respond and practically rebuild the altar in their own lives and communities.

3. Allowing space for honesty, testimony and vulnerability as people reflect on their own spiritual altars.
4. Encouraging practical response — not just agreement with ideas, but genuine changes in prayer life, worship, holiness, relationships and mission.
5. Remaining open to the Holy Spirit interrupting your meetings. Sometimes the most important moments will not be the discussion itself, but what happens as people begin seeking God together.

You may even wish to occasionally build “altar nights” around the book — extended evenings of worship, prayer, waiting on God and ministry to one another. After all, the goal of this book is not simply to talk about altars, but to rebuild them.

Throughout this book we want to show you ways that you can become strong, weaponised with God’s power, and able fight for your future in God’s grace. We want to show you how Biblical confession will help you.
