God Will Do It!

โ€œThen the king of Sodom said to Abram, โ€œJust give me the people you rescued; keep all the spoils for yourself.โ€ But Abram said to the king of Sodom, โ€œI raised my hand to Yahweh, God Most High, and I pledged a solemn oath to the Possessor of heaven and earth that I would keep nothing for myself that belongs to you, not even a thread of a garment or sandal strap. That way, you will never be able to say, โ€˜I was the one that made Abram rich.โ€™โ€

When the king of Sodom offered Abram wealth, it must have looked like an incredible opportunity. All Abram had to do was accept. But Abram discerned something deeperโ€”this wasnโ€™t Godโ€™s provision, it was a shortcut that would come with strings attached. If Abram took the offer, the king could later claim, โ€œI made Abram rich.โ€ Instead, Abram lifted his hand to heaven and declared that only Yahweh, the Possessor of heaven and earth, would be his source.

God often allows us to face these subtle tests. A job offer, a financial gift, a partnership, or even a relationship may look good on the surface, yet something in our spirit senses it isnโ€™t quite right. Sometimes itโ€™s simply the wrong timing; other times, the opportunity hides snares of compromise. These โ€œalmost rightโ€ opportunities can entangle us, distract us, or rob us of the very destiny weโ€™re called to walk in.

Abramโ€™s greatness was not built on human generosity but on divine faithfulness. Later, God made him wealthy in His own time and way, with no one else able to claim the credit. This is how God works: He provides manna in the desert, water from a rock, victory against impossible odds, and blessings that can only be explained by His hand.

The lesson is clearโ€”wait for God. Donโ€™t snatch at what looks glittery but hollow. Donโ€™t let temporary gain cost you eternal clarity. If you trust Him, He will unfold His goodness without compromise, and when breakthrough comes, it will carry no hidden chains.

Prayer: Lord, give me discernment to recognise what is from You and what is not. Teach me to wait patiently for Your timing, so that only You receive the glory for the blessings in my life.

Today, I choose patience over pressure, and faith over frustration. I trust that what God is preparing in the waiting will be worth every moment of surrender. I refuse to rush ahead of God or fall behind in fear. I will wait for His voice, for โ€œthe steps of a righteous person are ordered by the Lordโ€ (Psalm 37:23).

I will not lean on my own understanding, but I will acknowledge God in all my ways, knowing He will make my path straight (Proverbs 3:5โ€“6).
