Don’t Pass Me By!
“and (Abraham) said, ‘My Lord, if I have found favor in your sight, don’t pass me by. Stay for a while with your servant.’”
Genesis 18:3 TPT
There are moments in our walk with God when casual prayers simply won’t do. Abraham was in the season of promise—God had spoken of a miracle child, yet the years kept rolling by. When heavenly visitors appeared outside his tent, Abraham ran to them and cried out, “Don’t pass me by!” His plea was urgent, bold, and insistent. And what happened? They stayed, they ate, and one year later Isaac was born.
Sometimes, like Abraham, we must pray with a holy determination. Faith is not passive resignation—it is active pursuit. Blind Bartimaeus cried out on the roadside, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” Though the crowd tried to silence him, he only shouted louder. His insistence stopped Jesus in His tracks, and Bartimaeus received his sight. The woman with the issue of blood pushed through every obstacle—physical, social, and emotional—because she knew this was her moment. Her desperate touch released the healing power of Christ.
There comes a time when the Spirit whispers, This is your moment—don’t miss it. In those moments, polite prayers are not enough. We must cry, cling, and contend. God is not offended by our desperation; He delights in children who take Him at His word and hold Him to His promises. The psalmist prayed, “Do as You have promised, that Your name may be glorified.” Great revivalists prayed the same way: “Lord, You promised You would come. Don’t make fools of us now!” And heaven answered.
This kind of prayer is not arrogant—it is covenantal. It flows from knowing who we are: sons and daughters, heirs of the Kingdom, beloved of the King. Like Esther approaching her king, we clothe ourselves in the garments of faith and approach the throne with boldness.
So when you sense His nearness, when the promise feels close, pray with fire: “Lord, don’t pass me by!” Insist. Cry out. Repeat His promises back to Him. This warrior-like faith moves heaven and changes earth.
Prayer: Lord, awaken in me a holy boldness to contend for Your promises. Teach me to pray not with timidity but with covenantal confidence. Today, I cry out—don’t pass me by! Visit my life, my family, and my city with Your power and glory. Amen.

I declare that every promise God has spoken over my life is yes and amen in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 1:20). I will not grow weary in waiting, nor will I settle for less than what He has ordained. Though delay may test me, I will not doubt Him—His Word is sure, His timing perfect, and His covenant unbreakable. I contend not in striving, but in faith—believing that He who promised is faithful to complete it (Hebrews 10:23).
Today I stand, rooted in His truth, declaring:
Every promise will come to pass.
Every word will be fulfilled.
For my God is not a man that He should lie (Numbers 23:19).
