The Lord’s Prayer: HIS WONDERFUL NAME!

We are looking at the Lord’s Prayer. This is Jesus teaching us how to pray. (Matthew 6:9-13):

“This, then, is how you should pray:

“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
    as we also have forgiven our debtors.

 And lead us not into temptation,
    but deliver us from the evil one’

“Hallowed be your Name”

Knowing and meditating on the Name of God is one of the most powerful things we can do in order to know the Father. Jesus said he protected his disciples by the Name His Father gave him (John 17:12) which is an amazing statement. Remember the Proverb (18:10) “The Name of the Lord is a Strong tower, the righteous run in and are safe”? Somehow, knowing His Name, releases the power of His Name!

Remember when Moses was being sent to free the Israelites from Egypt, and Moses was bringing up excuses and dithering about whether to go. God said to him “I AM THAT I AM” or “I WILL BE WHAT I WILL BE” is my Name!

In other words, I am everything you need, everything you want, everything you hope for!

When you’re being attacked, He’s the Avenger. When you’re lonely, He’s Abba Father. When you’re being maligned, He called Advocate. When you’re fearful, He’s the Prince of Peace. When you’re feeling unfulfilled, remember He’s the Bread of Life.

When you’re mourning, He’s Comforter. When you’re struggling with ungodliness, He’s the Consuming Fire and Sanctifier. In trouble? He’s Counsellor. Being oppressed? He’s the Deliverer.

He is the Door, the Dwelling Place, God With Us, Emanuel, Faithful and True.

He is your Fountain of sustenance when you’re spiritually dry, He’s your Friend at all times. When life is complicated, He is The God Who Sees You, and when it’s confusing He is the Good Shepherd and Guide.

He is your Physician, your Peace, your Portion, your Potter, Your Purifier and your Passover Lamb.

He is your Hiding Place, Fortress, Shade, Shield, Strong tower and a Wall of Fire around you!

He is called your Healer, Provider, Righteousness, Peace and the Lord of Hosts!

Can you see, that all God has to be, to make your life magnificent, is Himself!

Psalm 91:14 says “Because you acknowledge my Name, I will rescue and protect you”.

As we get to know God, we release of heavens goodness into our lives, and that’s why it goes on to say…

…Come Back Tomorrow for “Heaven On Earth”

The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe (Proverbs 18:10). I place my trust in His name, for He is my refuge and strength.

I declare that the name of Jesus is exalted above every name. At His name, every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that He is Lord (Philippians 2:9-11).

I will call upon the name of the Lord in every season. In times of trouble, He answers me (Psalm 50:15). In times of joy, I praise His name (Psalm 113:3). His name is my hope, my salvation, and my victory.
