The Lord Has Need of You
โIf anyone asks you, โWhy are you untying it?โ say, โThe Lord has need of it.โโ โ Luke 19:31
I remember being a teenager and standing at a crossroads deep within my heart. I had to decide whether I was truly going to give my all to Jesus or continue living a half-hearted Christianity that left me spiritually dry, restless, and miserable. I loved God, but I was still tied up by insecurity, fear, and a sense of worthlessness. Outwardly I looked fine, but inwardly I felt bound.
It was during that season that I received one of my first visions from the Lord. I saw a colt tied up with ropes, unable to move freely. Then suddenly, drops of blood began to fall onto the rope, and as the blood touched it, the cords snapped and the colt was set free.
Immediately, the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart: โThat colt is you.โ
Then the Lord led me to Luke 19, where Jesus sends His disciples to retrieve a young donkey for His triumphal entry into Jerusalem. What overwhelms me every time I read it is the instruction Jesus gave them: โIf anyone asks you, โWhy are you untying it?โ say, โThe Lord has need of itโโ (Luke 19:31).
Think about that for a moment. A tied-up colt. Unused. Overlooked. Yet chosen by Jesus.
Maybe today you feel tied up by past mistakes, shame, fear, addiction, disappointment, or insecurity. Maybe youโve disqualified yourself from being used by God. But hear the Gospel clearly today: the blood of Jesus does not merely forgive youโit frees you. โSo if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeedโ (John 8:36).
And not only has He set you free, He has called you. The Lord has need of you.
Earlier in Luke 19, Jesus tells the parable of the talents. Two servants used what they were given and saw multiplication, but one buried his gift because fear convinced him not to risk stepping out (Luke 19:20-24). Fear will always try to keep you tied to the place God called you out from.
But Heaven is calling you forward.
Do not belittle the gifts God has placed inside you. Godโs greatest investment was not placed in buildings or programmesโit was placed in you through His Son and by His Spirit. The same Spirit who raised Christ from the dead now lives in you (Romans 8:11). You are anointed. You are called. You are needed.
So step out of hiding. Step into freedom. Step into destiny.
The Lord has need of you.
Believe & Confess Meditation & Declaration
I declare that whom the Son sets free is free indeed, and I walk in liberty through the blood of Jesus (John 8:36). I am chosen, called, and needed by the Lord for His divine purposes (Luke 19:31). God has not given me a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). I will not hide the gifts God has placed within me, but I will use them faithfully for His glory (Matthew 25:14-23). I am Godโs workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works prepared in advance for me to walk in (Ephesians 2:10). The Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead lives in me and empowers me daily (Romans 8:11).

STRONGER: includes a 40 day devotional
This book is all about where we find strength. Jarrod writes that โGod provides us with strength builders along our pathโ โ some we need to pick up and use, others will simply happen to us along the way, by a kind of divine providence. But knowing these seasons of muscle building are from heaven (โcos they usually look like theyโre from hell at first!) is vital to recognising Godโs plan for your resilience.
Now STRONGER comes with an additional 40 day devotional taking you on a journey building attitudes and beliefs that will release divine wisdom and strength in your life. Each day presents you with a scripture, an inspirational short piece to get you thinking, followed by a prayer, action point or declaration.
