Peace in an Unexpected Place

Sitting quietly in my mom’s room while she sleeps…

She’s been less responsive today. Her blood pressure and sugar levels have dropped, so I don’t want to wake her. So here I am—Bible open, whispering prayers, simply being present in the stillness.

It’s peaceful here, even though I wish we could have a conversation.

In the Renovation, “I Am Here”

When I walked in earlier, I noticed the plastic covering the window—part of renovations happening right now. (Not the most beautiful sight, if I’m honest.) But in that moment, the wind gently caught it, and it began to dance softly. It reminded me of angel wings teasing the air. A tender, holy whisper—as if Heaven itself was saying, “I am here.”

God’s Voice in the Soft and the Ordinary

It’s strange, but I felt the joy and peace of the Lord in it. God speaks like that sometimes. Not always in booming voices or lightning flashes, but in the soft and the ordinary. In plastic on a window. In the gentle movement of air. In moments others might overlook. 

He spoke through a donkey once, surely He can speak through renovations and breezes too.

Even in the Mess, There Is Movement

As I sat, it hit me: This room, like life right now, is under renovation. Unfinished. Unpolished. But even in the mess, there is movement. There is beauty in the becoming. There is grace in the “not yet.” That’s why I’m sharing in the process.

Too often, we share life’s lessons at the end of a thing, when everything’s turned out right. But life is complex, and it’s important to recognize that even in the unfinished moments, God is present and working.

God Is in the Middle of Your Renovation Season

Maybe you feel like that too, not quite where you want to be… a little undone… still in process. But friend, lean close. God is not far off. He is in the middle of your renovation season too. He is covering you with His feathers. There is a divine dance happening, even when you don’t see it.

Perfect love is hovering over you. Good and perfect gifts are already being prepared, even if they haven’t yet arrived. So stay close. Tuck yourself beneath His wings. Watch Him work.

Even in the unfinished, He is doing what only He can do. Nothing is impossible with God. And He’s dancing in the wind over your unfinished testimony right now, because He knows what’s coming.
