I Will Be What I Will Be

“God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM*” Exodus 3:14
(*I WILL BE WHAT I WILL BE)

God’s desire is to partner with us. He wants to will and to act through us. (Phil 2:13)

Moses was minding his own business when God called Him to deliver the Israelites out of Egypt.  If you’re familiar with the story, you will know Moses’ first reaction….

“Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?” Exodus 3:11 NIV

“O Lord, I’m not very good with words. I never have been, and I’m not now, even though you have spoken to me. I get tongue-tied, and my words get tangled.” Exodus 4:10 NLT

Can you relate?  I certainly can. God’s reaction was this….

“I will be with you.” Exodus 3:12 NIV

Then He follows this in verse 14 by saying,

“I AM WHO I AM” or as some translations put it, “I WILL BE WHAT I WILL BE.”

God has numerous names that describe who He is…..HEALER, PROVIDER, SHIELD, COMFORTER… but I want to focus on the I WILL BE WHAT I WILL BE.

Just take a look at these scriptures that tell us what God WILL BE to us, through us and in us:

“I will bless those who bless you.” Genesis 12:3 NIV

“I will make you very fruitful.” Genesis 17:6 NIV

“I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.” Exodus 4:12 NIV

“My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” Exodus 33:14 NIV

“I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you, and I will proclaim my name, the LORD, in your presence. I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.” Exodus 33:19 NIV

“I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses.” Joshua 1:3 NIV

“I will be his father, and he will be my son. I will never take my love away from him.” 1 Chronicles 17:13 NIV

“I will deliver you.” 2 Kings 20:6 NIV

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.” Psalm 32:8 NIV

“I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honour him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.” Psalm 91:14-16 NIV

“I will make rivers flow on barren heights, and springs within the valleys. I will turn the desert into pools of water, and the parched ground into springs.” Isaiah 41:18 NIV

“I will put my Spirit on him.”

“I will take hold of your hand. I will keep you.”

“I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth.” Isaiah 42:1,6,16 NIV

“I will go before you and will level the mountains; I will break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron. I will give you hidden treasures, riches stored in secret places.”

“I will strengthen you.” Isaiah 45:2-3, 5 NIV

“I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.” Isaiah 46:4 NIV

“I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint.” Jeremiah 31:25 NIV

“I will make an everlasting covenant with them: I will never stop doing good to them, and I will inspire them to fear me, so that they will never turn away from me. I will rejoice in doing them good and will assuredly plant them in this land with all my heart and soul.” Jeremiah 32:40-41 NIV

“I will bring health and healing to it; I will heal my people and will let them enjoy abundant peace and security.” Jeremiah 33:6 NIV

“I will make them and the places surrounding my hill a blessing. I will send down showers in season; there will be showers of blessing.” Ezekiel 34:26 NIV

“I will save you from all your uncleanness. I will call for the grain and make it plentiful and will not bring famine upon you. I will increase the fruit of the trees and the crops of the field, so that you will no longer suffer disgrace among the nations because of famine.” Ezekiel 36:29-30 NIV

“I will make a covenant of peace with them; it will be an everlasting covenant. I will establish them and increase their numbers, and I will put my sanctuary among them forever. My dwelling place will be with them; I will be their God, and they will be my people.” Ezekiel 37:26-27 NIV

“I will deliver this people from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death.” Hosea 13:14 NIV

“I will make you fishers of men.” Matt 4:19 NKJ

“I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28 NIV

“I will go ahead of you.” Matthew 26:32 NIV

WOW!!!

This is powerful.  This is God’s word to you.

No more excuses…He will make you fruitful, He will protect you, He will sustain you, He will guide you, He will heal you, He will help you, He will make you, He will go ahead of you.

Prayer: Thank You Heavenly Father that You want to partner with me. As I submit to You, trust You, Lean and rely on You, You will prove Yourself to me. You will act on my behalf and make a way where there is no way. You are an awesome God, the great I AM. This covenant and this relationship means everything to me. I worship You, Almighty God!
