God With Us – The Secret Of Success
“The Lord was with Joseph so that he prospered, and he lived in the house of his Egyptian master. When his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord gave him success in everything he did, Joseph found favour in his eyes and became his attendant. Potiphar put him in charge of his household, and he entrusted to his care everything he owned.”
Genesis 39:2–4 (NIVUK)
Joseph’s story reminds us that the most important factor for success in life is not background, skill, or opportunity—it is the presence of God. Scripture doesn’t highlight Joseph’s administrative training or charisma in this passage; instead, it declares one simple truth: “The Lord was with Joseph.” That was his secret. That was his strength.
When God is with us, His presence fills our thoughts with divine wisdom, His Spirit quickens our hearts with creative ideas, and His favour opens doors that no man can shut. We find ourselves walking in peace and confidence, even when circumstances seem against us. His nearness carries us, covers our weakness, and clothes us with grace. Emmanuel—God with us—is the greatest gift we could ever receive.
But how do we live in this awareness of His presence? Jesus described the Spirit resting upon Him like a dove. Doves are gentle creatures; they remain where there is peace and trust. Likewise, the Holy Spirit settles on hearts that are quieted in faith. When we “shut the door” on the noise of the world, step into solitude, and meet the Father in secret, His presence fills us afresh. There, faith is strengthened, fear is silenced, and trust grows deeper.
Faith is the atmosphere in which His presence is most tangibly known. Paul reminds us that “faith comes by hearing” the Word of God. As we continually immerse ourselves in Scripture, in prayer, and in the prophetic voice of the Spirit, we are building a dwelling place of faith in our hearts where God delights to abide.
Joseph’s success wasn’t about striving—it was about God being with him. The same is true for us. Build that house of faith. Treasure Emmanuel in your heart. Walk closely with Him, and you will find that true prosperity is not about what you hold in your hands, but Who holds your life.
Prayer: Lord, let my success be defined by Your presence. Teach me to dwell in You, to remain in faith, and to treasure Your nearness above all else. Amen.

He is my refuge, my strength, and my life. As Psalm 73:28 says, “It is good to be near God.” I choose the nearness of God over every distraction, every fear, and every lesser thing. I cling to Him with my whole heart, trusting His promise: “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you” (James 4:8). His presence is my dwelling place, my guidance, and my peace.
I declare that I will walk with Him daily—listening for His voice, seeking His will, and abiding in His love. Just as Jesus taught, “Abide in Me, and I in you” (John 15:4), I remain rooted in Him, and He remains faithful to sustain me.
