God Has Not Forgotten You
โThe chief cupbearer, however, did not remember Joseph; he forgot him.โ
Genesisโฌ โญ40โฌ:โญ23โฌ โญNIVUKโฌ
Joseph had faithfully interpreted the dreams of Pharaohโs officials in prison, giving the cupbearer the good news of his release. Josephโs only request was, โRemember me.โ Yet when the cupbearer was restored to his position, he promptly forgot Joseph. Another two years passed in that dark cell. Forgotten by man, but not by God.
This moment in Josephโs story reminds us that Godโs timing is not tied to manโs memory. People may overlook you. Opportunities may bypass you. Promises may seem delayed. But God never forgets. At the right time, He caused Pharaoh himself to dreamโand suddenly Joseph was remembered, released, and raised to the palace.
This is the rhythm of Godโs dealings with His people. Moses spent forty years in the desert before his calling began. Abraham waited decades for Isaac. Israel waited centuries for the Messiah. Yet, in every case, God came through at exactly the right time. He is never early, and never late.
Why the wait? Because waiting shapes us. Paul writes that โperseverance produces character; and character, hope.โ Waiting is Godโs classroom for the heart. In Isaiah 49, God calls His servant a โpolished arrowโ hidden in the quiver. The arrow is finished, sharp, and readyโbut hidden until the moment of release. Maybe your skills, gifts, and knowledge are prepared, but God is still pressing kingdom traits deep into your heart: humility, meekness, endurance, trust. These do not come in sanitized classrooms of theory, but in the hidden places of waiting.
So discern your season. If you are in a waiting season, wait well. Do not grumble. Do not despair. Be content. Be trusting. Be hopeful. Waiting is not wastedโit is preparation.
God has not forgotten you. He cannot forget you. He has engraved your name on the palms of His hands (Isaiah 49:16). Like Joseph, your moment will comeโnot through human favour, but through Godโs perfect timing.
Let perseverance do its work in you. Let patience produce depth. Hold on to hope. And when the right time comes, the One who never forgets will lift you into the fullness of His promise.
Prayer: Lord, thank You that You never forget me. Teach me to wait well, to trust Your timing, and to let perseverance shape my heart. I believe my time is in Your hands. Amen.

Today, I declare that waiting is not wasted, because God is working while I wait. โFor still the vision awaits its appointed timeโฆ if it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come, it will not delayโ (Habakkuk 2:3). I trust the God who makes everything beautiful in its time (Ecclesiastes 3:11). His timing is perfect, His pace is intentional, and His delays are never His denials.
I declare that while I wait, God is strengthening me (Isaiah 40:31), shaping me, and preparing what He has promised. I will not fear missing out, falling behind, or being forgottenโmy times are in His hands (Psalm 31:15).
