Ever-Increasing Glory

“And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into His image with ever-increasing glory.” — 2 Corinthians 3:18

From Fading to Increasing

Under the Old Covenant, glory came—but it did not remain.

Moses encountered God face to face, and his face shone with divine radiance. But the moment he stepped away, the glory began to fade (2 Corinthians 3:13). It was real, but it was temporary. Powerful, but not permanent.

Paul then makes a staggering declaration: in Christ, that pattern has been broken.

Now, instead of fading glory, we are invited into ever-increasing glory (2 Corinthians 3:18).

The Removal of the Veil

The difference is not effort—it is access.

The veil that once separated humanity from God’s presence has been removed in Christ (2 Corinthians 3:16). No longer do we approach from a distance. No longer do we encounter God occasionally. We are invited to live unveiled, to behold Him continually, to carry His presence within us.

This is the new altar.
Not external, but internal.
Not occasional, but constant.

The Danger of Returning to Striving

And yet, many believers live as though the veil still exists. Not physically, but mentally. There is still a sense of distance, a feeling that we must earn our way back into His presence, a subtle belief that more effort will produce more glory.

But striving cannot produce what grace has already given.

When we return to performance, we step back into fading glory. When we remain in grace, we step into increase.

Beholding, Not Becoming

Notice what Paul says: we are transformed as we behold (2 Corinthians 3:18).

Not as we try harder.
Not as we fix ourselves.
But as we look at Him.

This is where the altar becomes transformative—not because of what we bring, but because of what we see. As we fix our eyes on Jesus, something happens within us. Identity shifts. Confidence rises. Glory increases.

Because what you behold… you become.

Live Unveiled

This is the invitation of grace: to live unveiled. To stop hiding, stop striving, stop performing, and to stand fully seen and fully accepted in the presence of God.

Because the glory you are looking for…
is not ahead of you.
It is already increasing within you.

I live with an unveiled face, freely encountering the presence of God (2 Corinthians 3:16). I am being transformed into His likeness with ever-increasing glory (2 Corinthians 3:18). I fix my eyes on Jesus, and my life is changed as I behold Him (Hebrews 12:2). I do not live under condemnation, but in the freedom of the Spirit (Romans 8:1). The presence of God dwells within me, and I carry His glory daily (1 Corinthians 6:19). I walk in grace, and my life reflects the glory of God more and more (John 1:16).
