Come To The Table Of His Presence

Come To The Table Of His Presence

โ€œI am the Bread of Life. Come every day to me and you will never be hungry. Believe in me and you will never be thirsty.โ€ โ€” John 6:35 TPT

A few years ago, whilst praying, I had a vision of a magnificent banqueting table laid out before me. I then heard the Lord say, โ€œCome, everything youโ€™ll ever need is right here at the table of my presence.โ€

He then handed me a chalice of wine and said, โ€œDrink of my Spirit and you will become a portal of my presence.โ€

I don’t know about you, but I love a good meal out. There is something special about sitting at a beautifully prepared table, knowing that everything has been arranged and prepared for you.

One Christmas, I visited Harewood House in Yorkshire, where a beautiful Christmas display was being exhibited. Walking through one of the rooms, I saw a magnificent long table prepared for a grand banquet. Guests were going to pay a significant price to sit there and enjoy course after course.

The table of God’s presence is open to usโ€”but not because we earned a place there. Jesus paid the high price so we can feast with Him.

Through His death and resurrection, He has brought us into relationship with the Father. We don’t have to strive to earn His acceptance. We come by grace, through faith in Christ.

David declared,

โ€œYou prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemiesโ€ (Psalm 23:5).

I love the Passion Translation which says,

โ€œYou become my delicious feast even when my enemies dare to fight. You anoint me with the fragrance of your Holy Spirit; you give me all I can drink of you until my heart overflows.โ€

Notice where the table is prepared. In the presence of your enemies.

God doesn’t always remove every enemy before He feeds you.
He doesn’t always eliminate every problem before He gives you peace.
He doesn’t always calm the storm before He reminds you that He is near.

You can feast while the battle is still raging.
You can worship while questions remain unanswered.
You can experience the presence of God even when circumstances are difficult.

Come Hungry

Jesus said, โ€œI am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirstyโ€ (John 6:35).

Jesus is the source of life. The world offers many temporary substitutes, but only Christ truly satisfies the deepest hunger of the human soul.

Are you weary? Come to the table.
Are you discouraged? Come to the table.
Do you need wisdom? Come to the table.
Do you need peace, strength, healing or fresh hope? Come to Jesus.

At God’s table, there is no shortage.

There is a place for you at the table of His presence.

Whatever you need is right here in abundant supplies.

Believe & Confess Meditations

The Lord prepares a table for me, even in the presence of my enemies, and His goodness sustains me (Psalm 23:5). I come to Jesus, the Bread of Life, and find true satisfaction in Him (John 6:35). I taste and see that the Lord is good and take refuge in Him (Psalm 34:8). I draw near to God with confidence through Jesus Christ and receive mercy and grace in my time of need (Hebrews 4:16). I am continually filled with the Holy Spirit as I yield myself to God and walk in fellowship with Him (Ephesians 5:18). My heart overflows with hope because God’s love has been poured into me through the Holy Spirit (Romans 5:5).
