After The Trauma

After The Trauma

Nate Johnston recently prophesiedโ€ฆ

A major tactic of the enemy right now is to keep you in a continual relational trauma loop, but God is healing you right now.

Itโ€™s obvious that we have been in a season that God has been revealing what has been too close for you to see.

The attacks that havenโ€™t come from outside your walls but WITHIN them, and discovering them is both freeing but PAINFUL.

Itโ€™s painful to discover that what you thought was safe and trusted was the place the enemy sent his most devastating covert assassination attempt on your life and calling.

Itโ€™s a reality that sinks down deep when you find that what you allowed into close proximity was what became your last seasonโ€™s greatest calamity.

And in its wakeโ€ฆcrushing chaos on every front โ€“ in your home, marriage, health, finances, and calling.

It created Ishmaels you thought at first were the Lord, with the wrong counsel.

It created diversions to your calling, double mindedness, and even disobedience because without realizing it, you allowed in the wrong influences and followed it.

Now you are left in the wake of both loss and betrayal.

And thatโ€™s a pit that feels the hardest to crawl out from. Why?

Because itโ€™s more than just dealing with their targeted attack on what was most sacred to you. Itโ€™s more than just the fact that they planted hidden seeds and were calculated for many yearsโ€ฆ

Itโ€™s more than the fact that you are now cleaning up the mess from what they did in your own home..

Itโ€™s the fact that you let them in. And that is hard to move past.

You donโ€™t know how to forgive yourself. You donโ€™t know how to trust your discernment again, and you donโ€™t know how to ever feel like you can trust anyone again.

Itโ€™s driven you into semi isolation.

But what few talk about is how betrayal steals your voice. You go into hiding and you actually grieve the purity, innocence, and passion you had before their poison broke you.

A trauma loop is when you are stuck in the repetitive cycle and lifestyle of both trying to release your betrayal wounds but also feeding it through the shame and fear that follow it.

It can feel impossible to move on from and Iโ€™ll be honest, many people stay stuck hereโ€ฆ BUT ENTER JESUS.

He breaks these cycles. He heals. He restores. He can pull you out of the abyss of pain.

You are getting YOU back, in Jesusโ€™ name.

You are getting back your voice, your passion, and fire that was lost.

Even as Iโ€™m writing this, Iโ€™m thinking about Jacob and Esau. Esau forfeited his blessing in a moment of weakness and it affected him his whole life.

That betrayal must have followed him around for years. Yet, God still blessed him.

I know many have forfeited what was sacred and cast their pearls before swine. You have given away what wasnโ€™t meant to be given away.

You have fractured your heart and soul to HAVE PEOPLE and then they have left you high and dry when they got what they wanted.

But, God is restoring you back, breaking those twisted ties, and drawing out the poison.

And thatโ€™s what I have been seeing this season. Itโ€™s as if God was drawing your pain to the surface.

Have you realized this yet or are you still diagnosing it wrong? You think you are falling apart but what if God is simply drawing out what has kept you sick?

The cycle needs to stop. The trauma loop must come to an end.

Let me end here โ€“ David experienced this in Psalms 54 and 55. He had Saul chase him earlier in his life but nothing felt as personal as when his closest friend betrayed him.

โ€œIf an enemy were insulting me, I could endure it; if a foe were rising against me, I could hide. But it is you, a man like myself, my companion, my close friend, with whom I once enjoyed sweet fellowship at the house of God as we walked about among the worshipers.โ€ โ€“Psalms 55:12-14

He also said this:

โ€œMy heart is in anguish within me; the terrors of death have fallen on me. Fear and trembling have beset me; horror has overwhelmed me.โ€ โ€“Psalms 55:4-5

Have you felt like this? Are you stuck in a trauma loop and donโ€™t know how to break free?

David ends with this powerful declaration:

โ€œCast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you, he will never let the righteous be shaken.โ€ โ€“Psalms 55:22

So, if you are stuck in a loopโ€ฆ forgive. Cast the pain and let Him draw it all out so you can not only recover but be restored to FULL HEALTH.

Let me prophesy over you โ€“ GOD IS RESTORING THE YEARS!!

He is breaking the cycles of defeat and years of assassination and relational traps and plunder. And He is bringing you into relational covenant with people who will not be triggered by the enemy to be a Trojan horse to your life and destiny, in Jesusโ€™ name.

Pray with meโ€“

Lord, break me out of this continual loop of sadness, heaviness, numbness, soul sickness, defeat, and shame. I forgive them. I renounce and cancel this assignment from lingering over me. I repent for being naive and letting them in and ask you to heal any landing pad of weakness in me that allowed it to get past undetected. Now Lord, heal me. Break this cycle of shame, grief, and heal all fractures in my heart and RESTORE ME, in Jesusโ€™ name. Amen

    Hi Jarrod

Thanks so much for your Spirit and Word devotional. I love it! And thanks for your worship especially over lockdown. Beautiful, prophetic, so encouraging.

Just to say that I could not open this morning\’s Spirit and Word. And sometimes I have to open it twice before I get to the pictures!

    Looking forward to more
