Treasures Stored Up for You

“Oh, how abundant is Your goodness, which You have stored up for those who fear You, and worked for those who take refuge in You.” — Psalm 31:19

Have you ever wondered what God has in store for your future?

Many believers live with a mindset of scarcity, constantly focused on what they lack, what hasn’t happened yet, or what prayers remain unanswered. Yet Scripture paints a very different picture of our heavenly Father. David declares with awe and wonder, “Oh, how abundant is Your goodness, which You have stored up for those who fear You, and worked for those who take refuge in You” (Psalm 31:19).

What a breathtaking promise!

The Psalmist describes God’s goodness as a treasure chest overflowing with blessings. Not a few leftovers. Not barely enough. But abundance. Our God is not stingy. He is extravagantly generous. James tells us that “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights” (James 1:17). Everything good ultimately flows from His heart.

However, Psalm 31 also reveals something important. There is a posture required to experience the fullness of God’s goodness. The promise is for those who honour Him, worship Him, and take refuge in Him.

In other words, God’s blessings are not merely about what He gives; they are rooted in relationship with Him.

A Heart Aligned with Heaven

Before asking God for more, perhaps we should first ask ourselves a few questions. Am I walking in obedience to His Word? Am I seeking His Kingdom first? Am I hiding myself in His presence? Am I trusting His ways above my own?

Jesus said, “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you” (Matthew 6:33). God’s blessings often flow most freely when our priorities are aligned with His.

Sometimes we want the treasure without pursuing the Treasure Giver.

Yet the greatest blessing God offers is Himself.

Wait for His Breakthrough

Perhaps you are believing God today for provision, healing, restoration, or a breakthrough in some area of your life. If so, don’t lose heart.

Psalm 31 concludes with this encouragement: “Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the Lord!” (Psalm 31:24).

Waiting is not passive. Waiting is faith in action. It is choosing to trust God’s character when you cannot yet see His hand. It is standing on His promises even when circumstances suggest otherwise.

Keep praying. Keep worshipping. Keep declaring His Word.

Your Father has not forgotten you.

He has good things stored up for you, and in His perfect timing, He will release every blessing needed to fulfil His purpose for your life.

I declare that my heavenly Father has abundant goodness stored up for me as I trust and honour Him (Psalm 31:19). I take refuge in the Lord, and He is my safe place, strength, and provider (Psalm 46:1). I seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, knowing that He faithfully supplies all that I need (Matthew 6:33). Every good and perfect gift in my life comes from my loving Father above (James 1:17). I will be strong and courageous as I wait for the Lord’s breakthrough and perfect timing (Psalm 31:24). The Lord is good to those who hope in Him and seek Him wholeheartedly (Lamentations 3:25).
