Smith Wigglesworth Prophecy for Britain Coming to Pass!

Smith Wigglesworth Prophecy for Britain Coming to Pass!

COLLIDE CoverIn 1947 Smith Wigglesworth prophesied the following:

“During the next few decades there will be two distinct moves of the Holy Spirit across the church in Great Britain. The first move will affect every church that is open to receive it, and will be characterised by a restoration of the baptism and gifts of the Holy Spirit.

“The second move of the Holy Spirit will result in people leaving historic churches and planting new churches.

“In the duration of each of these moves, the people who are involved will say, ‘This is a great revival.’ But the Lord says, ‘No, neither is this the great revival but both are steps towards it.’

“When the new church phase is on the wane, there will be evidence in the churches of something that has not been seen before: a coming together of those with an emphasis on the word and those with an emphasis on the Spirit. When the word and the Spirit come together, there will be the biggest move of the Holy Spirit that the nation, and indeed, the world has ever seen. It will mark the beginning of a revival that will eclipse anything that has been witnessed within these shores, even the Wesleyan and Welsh revivals of former years. The outpouring of God’s Spirit will flow over from the United Kingdom to mainland Europe, and from there, will begin a missionary move to the ends of the earth.”

Without a doubt the first wave of God’s Spirit took place, with fresh outpouring in Pentecostal churches and renewals among Anglicans and others (Think Colin Urquhart, David Watson) . The second wave of planting new churches also took place, as the likes of Gerald Coates, Terry Virgo, John Noble the House Church & Restoration movements burst upon the scene.

In both cases Smith tells us we will think of them as revival at the time, but they are not.

Smith goes on to say “When the new church phase is on the wane”. This is something that is  taking place right now, as the newest expressions of church are, along with historic churches, facing the same struggles and needs for renewal, with numbers dwindling and that pioneering edge, not quite what it used to be. (I realise this is a broad brush stroke, and there are always exceptions, but in the main, it is true).

This means, we are in that “when”. When the new churches wane….

He speaks then of a move of Word and Spirit people, coming together. I have to say, from personal experience, this is also taking place across Britain right now. Apostolic forums where wonderful theologians sit alongside prophetic voices…in a way never before seen. There is definately a fresh spirit of unity. God created. God breathed.

And he said that this move would usher in  “the beginning of a revival that will eclipse anything that has been witnessed within these shores, even the Wesleyan and Welsh revivals of former years.”

We are in that “when”.

Don’t watch the waves, watch the tide of God’s Spirit. He is building, growing higher, preparing us to walk in humility, love, grace, wisdom and compassion, to see a mighty move of His Spirit that will eclipse former revivals, reaching Great Britain, and the world, with the glory of the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

Smith prophesied this was a word for Britain. Everything Smith prophesied so far has been accurate. If the next stage is as accurate, we are in for an amazing few decades! Let’s get prepared (Read Blog “Revival: It Might Just Kill You!”), Envisioned (Read Blog “Prophetic Word, Days of Wonder”) as revival is often not what we think it is!

Lord, have your way among us!
