Sail Away from the Safe Harbour
โTrust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.โ โ Proverbs 3:5โ6 (NIV)
Mark Twain once wrote, โTwenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didnโt do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harborโฆโ
This speaks deeply to the journey of faith. How often do we cling to the dock of comfort, afraid to set sail into the unknown? We play it safe, fearing failure, rejection, or the uncertainty of the waters ahead. But God never called us to a life of safetyโHe called us to a life of faith.
Throughout Scripture, we see God inviting His people to โsail awayโโto leave behind the familiar and trust Him with the future. Abraham left his homeland. Peter stepped out of the boat. The early church moved forward in the face of persecution. They didnโt have all the answers, but they had a word from Godโand that was enough.
God is still calling us to explore, dream, and discoverโin Him. To take risks led by the Holy Spirit. To follow vision, not just comfort. To pursue purpose over predictability. Yes, it can be scary. But nothing is more disappointing than a life half-lived, full of โwhat ifs.โ
So today, throw off the bowlines. Let go of fear. Step away from the shore of the familiar. Catch the wind of Godโs Spirit in your sails.
You werenโt made to driftโyou were made to move in faith.
Donโt let your legacy be comfort. Let it be courage. Let it be obedience. Let it be a life that explored, dreamed, discoveredโand followed Jesus all the way.

I declare that I walk by faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). Like Abraham, I obey Godโs call, stepping out even when I do not know the full path ahead, trusting Him to guide me (Hebrews 11:8).
I believe that without faith it is impossible to please God, so I draw near to Him, knowing He rewards those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6). I am strong and courageous, for the Lord my God is with me wherever I go (Joshua 1:9).
As I step forward in obedience, I trust that God is able to do immeasurably more than all I ask or imagine, according to His power at work within me (Ephesians 3:20).
