Resurrection POWER!

Resurrection POWER!

โ€œThat I may know Him and the power of His resurrection.โ€

(Philippians 3:10)

Knowing Himโ€ฆ and His Power

Most Christians are deeply aware that our faith leads us towards a deeper knowledge of God. Through prayer, Scripture, worship, reflection, and the quiet sacrament of daily surrender, we pursue Him. We long to know Him better. To recognise His voice. To grow in friendship with Him.

And rightly so.

But in this beautiful line, the apostle Paul adds something remarkable to his pursuit. His goal is not only to know Christโ€”as wonderful as that isโ€”but also to know the power of His resurrection (Philippians 3:10).

Today is Resurrection Sunday. Easter morning. The day history changed forever.

And the invitation of Easter is breathtaking. We are invited not merely to admire Jesus, study Jesus, or even believe in Jesus from a distance. We are invited to experience the power that raised Him from the dead.

Perhaps you know that God loves you. But today He wants you to experience that love. Perhaps you know He healsโ€”but today you need the Healer. Perhaps you know Him as Provider, Defender, Waymaker, the God of angel armiesโ€”but today you need to encounter that power personally.

Easter invites us beyond theory into experience.

Power Over Sickness

The resurrection is first a declaration of power over sickness and physical brokenness.

Jesus died brutally. His body was beaten, pierced, exhausted, and drained of life. Yet three days later, the power of God surged through that lifeless body. Breath returned. Blood flowed. Life flooded His being again.

Scripture tells us that โ€œif the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodiesโ€ (Romans 8:11).

The same resurrection power is not locked in historyโ€”it is released into the lives of those who believe. Through prayer, faith, and hunger for God, that life-giving power still moves today.

Power Over Shame and the Past

The resurrection also declares power over sin, guilt, and shame.

Every failure. Every mistake. Every regret. Every dark chapter of the past. At the cross Jesus carried it all.

Scripture says, โ€œAs far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from usโ€ (Psalm 103:12). And again we are told, โ€œThere is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesusโ€ (Romans 8:1).

Through the resurrection, God declares that the payment is complete. Your past no longer defines you. You are forgiven, cleansed, restored, and made new.

In Christ, it is as though the stain never existed.

Power Over Death

Finally, Easter proclaims victory over death itself.

Until that moment in history, death always had the final word. Even when miracles happenedโ€”like when Jesus raised Lazarus (John 11:43โ€“44)โ€”death would eventually return.

But this time was different.

Jesus rose never to die again. Scripture triumphantly declares, โ€œDeath has been swallowed up in victoryโ€ฆ O death, where is your sting?โ€ (1 Corinthians 15:54โ€“55).

Christ now holds โ€œthe keys of death and Hadesโ€ (Revelation 1:18). He is the gatekeeper of eternity.

Nothingโ€”not even deathโ€”can separate us from His love (Romans 8:38โ€“39).

Those who have stood beside believers nearing the end of their lives often testify of the same thing: peace, visions of Christ, a sense of heaven drawing near. Why? Because the One who defeated death now stands at the doorway.

He is the way. The life. The beginning and the end.

A Prayer for Resurrection Day

So today, as we celebrate Resurrection Sunday, whisper a quiet prayer.

Trust Him.

Trust that He holds your life. Your days. Your future. Your unanswered questions. Your battles. Your destiny.

Because if the Father gave us His Son in such a way, Scripture asks the beautiful question: โ€œHow will He not also, along with Him, graciously give us all things?โ€ (Romans 8:32).

The resurrection is not only proof of who Jesus is.

It is the promise that His power is now at work in you.

Believe & Confess Meditation & Declaration

Today I declare that I know Christ and experience the power of His resurrection in my life (Philippians 3:10). The Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead lives in me and gives life to my body and every area of my life (Romans 8:11). My sins and failures have been removed as far as the east is from the west, and I walk in forgiveness and freedom (Psalm 103:12). There is now no condemnation over my life because I am in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1). Death has lost its sting and victory belongs to Jesus, who reigns forever (1 Corinthians 15:55โ€“57). Nothing in all creation can separate me from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus my Lord (Romans 8:38โ€“39).
