Jump Right In!

Jump Right In!

Christianity only really works when you are immersed in it. There is nothing more miserable than a half hearted Christian. Teetering on the edge of favour and glory, without the bottle to quite jump in and suck the juice out of Godโ€™s โ€œLife in all its fullnessโ€ is quite painful, as you usually end up aware of all the โ€œdonโ€™tsโ€, but get to enjoy few of the blessings!

In Christianity, you must be baptised. You probably already know, that simply means โ€œImmersed, dunked, saturated, marinatedโ€.

The Bible talks about being immersed (baptised) in water, into the body of Christ (Church), in the Holy Spirit and even into suffering!

You see baptism, or being immersed, speaks of letting go of an old life, and fully embracing a new life. It is a burial of sorts, and a coming back to life. It is accepting, โ€œthis is a revolution in my life โ€“ everythingโ€™s changed!โ€

The Christian walk, and Godโ€™s ways or Laws, simply donโ€™t work by dipping your toe in! You either tithe or you donโ€™t. You worship, or you donโ€™t. You obey, or you donโ€™t. You can try to โ€œattend church occasionallyโ€ instead of  becoming a โ€œdiscipleโ€ (What God has called you to), but usually you are simply looking for enough of God to anaesthetise you from lifeโ€™s ills, or your own shame, but youโ€™ll never know His power to transform you. So youโ€™ll grow old, but not better. Wrinkled, but not mature! Thatโ€™s not destiny!

Today, make the decision to be Baptisedโ€ฆ fully immersed, surrendered, saturated, marinated and dunked into God, His Spirit, His Word and His purposes for your life. Itโ€™s the ONLY way Christianity really works!

I choose to fully immersed my life in Christ! I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me (Galatians 2:20). My thoughts, my desires, and my actions are surrendered to Him.

I declare that I am rooted and established in His love. I abide in Him, and He abides in me, for apart from Him, I can do nothing (John 15:4-5). My identity is found in Christ alone, and I am transformed by the renewing of my mind (Romans 12:2).

I declare that I am baptized into Christ and clothed with His righteousness (Galatians 3:27). I walk in the power of His Spirit, led by His truth, and strengthened by His grace. The old has passed away, and I am a new creation in Him (2 Corinthians 5:17).
