God Will Turn It for Good

God Will Turn It for Good

โ€œYou intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.โ€

โ€ญโ€ญGenesisโ€ฌ โ€ญ50โ€ฌ:โ€ญ20โ€ฌ โ€ญNIVUKโ€ฌ

There are seasons in life that, to human eyes, seem unbearably cruel. The betrayal of friends, the rejection of family, the loss of opportunityโ€”moments that feel like the very hand of darkness pressing against your destiny. Yet Josephโ€™s story reminds us of something profound: what others intend for harm, God can transform for good.

This doesnโ€™t mean that every awful thing is orchestrated by God. A world of suffering and sin would give us a very confusing picture of a loving Father if we believed He planned every painful moment. But Scripture shows there are two kinds of difficult seasons: some are planned by God and some are used by God. Both, when faced with a pure and surrendered heart, can lead to tremendous blessing.

Josephโ€™s brothers sold him out of jealousy and cruelty. To them, he was gone foreverโ€”a problem removed. Yet in Godโ€™s sovereign wisdom, that very act of betrayal became the vehicle for Josephโ€™s promotion and Egyptโ€™s salvation. Years later, standing as governor of Egypt, Joseph could look back and say, โ€œYou meant it for evil, but God meant it for good.โ€ What a stunning perspective!

Imagine if, instead of hindsight, Joseph had prophetic sight. What if he had sat in that pit and prayed, โ€œOK God, how are You going to use this for good?โ€ You and I can learn to live like thatโ€”to trust that we are never merely in the hands of men, but always in the hands of God. When your life is surrendered to Him, no human scheme can undo His plan.

Danielโ€™s lionsโ€™ den led to promotion. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednegoโ€™s fiery furnace became the stage for Godโ€™s glory. When God is on the throne of your destiny, He will turn all things for good. The key is to keep your heart clean.

That means forgiving those who hurt you. Human enemies are tests of our love, forgiveness, and maturity. Anyone can love those who are kindโ€”but followers of Christ love their enemies, pray for their persecutors, and bless those who curse them. Every time you choose forgiveness, you disarm the enemy and invite Godโ€™s favour.

So if you find yourself in a pit, a prison, or a furnace today, donโ€™t despair. Lift your eyes and declare, โ€œGod, how are You going to use this for good?โ€ For those surrendered to Him, every situationโ€”planned or permittedโ€”becomes a pathway to purpose.

God is turning all things for my good, just as He promised:
โ€œAnd we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Himโ€ (Romans 8:28). Nothing done against me can stop Godโ€™s purpose for me. What the enemy meant for harm, God is transforming into healing, strength, and victory (Genesis 50:20).

I also declare that by the power of the Holy Spirit, I choose to love those who have hurt me. Jesus calls me to a higher way:
โ€œLove your enemies and pray for those who persecute youโ€ (Matthew 5:44). I refuse to let bitterness shape my heart. Godโ€™s love in me is stronger than the wounds left by others.
