God is For You

“What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?” Romans 8:31 (NLT)

For many people, guilt and shame have become unwanted companions. They know God as holy, but struggle to know Him as loving. They picture Him as a distant judge, waiting to punish their next mistake, rather than a loving Father who has made a way for them to come boldly into His presence.

Perhaps you’ve felt that way yourself.

We can be remarkably good at remembering the negative while forgetting the positive. One critical comment can occupy our thoughts for days, while ten words of encouragement can disappear from our minds within minutes. Our fallen human nature is often drawn towards condemnation.

But here is the truth I want you to hear today: God is for you.

Shift Your Perspective

Yes, God is holy. Yes, He is righteous. Yes, He is a God of justice. But the astonishing message of the Gospel is that the holy God has made a way for sinful humanity to be reconciled to Him through Jesus Christ.

God didn’t send Jesus because He couldn’t stand you.

“But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners” Romans 5:8 (NLT).

The cross is proof of God’s heart towards you.
When you fail, He is your forgiver.
When you feel condemned, He is your advocate.
When your heart is troubled, He is your peace.
When you feel weak, He is your strength.
When you feel lost, He is your shepherd.
When you feel afraid, He is your refuge.
When you feel unworthy, remember that Christ Himself has become your righteousness (1 Corinthians 1:30).

You don’t have to earn His love by performing perfectly. You don’t have to spend your life trying to convince God that you’re worthy of His attention. Jesus has already made the way.

Listen to the Right Voice

The enemy is called “the accuser of our brothers and sisters” (Revelation 12:10, NLT). His strategy is to keep reminding you of your failures so that you forget the finished work of Jesus. But Romans 8 declares something completely different:

“So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus” Romans 8:1 (NLT).

No condemnation.
Not less condemnation.
Not occasional condemnation.
No condemnation.

Conviction from the Holy Spirit draws us towards Jesus and repentance. Condemnation drives us away from Him and tells us that we are hopeless, rejected and beyond redemption. Learn to recognise the difference.

When you stumble, run towards your Father, not away from Him.
When shame tells you to hide, remember that Jesus has opened the way into God’s presence.
When the enemy whispers, “God is against you,” answer with the Word of God:

“If God is for me, who can be against me?” Romans 8:31.

He Is Your Father

Romans 8 doesn’t stop there. It tells us that we have received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” (Romans 8:15, NKJV).

That is intimacy.
That is relationship.
That is the heart of the Gospel.

God isn’t merely tolerating you. Through Christ, He has brought you into His family. So today, shift your perspective. Stop defining God by your feelings, your failures or your past experiences. Define Him by His Word.

Meditate on Romans 8. Read it slowly. Speak it aloud. Let its truth sink deeper than the accusations in your mind.

God is holy.
God is just.
But God is for you.

And if the God of the universe is for you, you can face today with confidence, knowing that nothing can separate you from His love in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:38–39).

Believe & Confess Meditation & Declaration

God is for me, so I will not live in fear of what is against me (Romans 8:31). There is no condemnation over my life because I belong to Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1). I am a beloved child of God, and I can draw near to Him as my Father (Romans 8:15; 1 John 3:1). Jesus Christ is my righteousness, and I do not have to earn God’s acceptance through my own works (1 Corinthians 1:30; Ephesians 2:8–9). When I sin, I have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the Righteous (1 John 2:1). Nothing can separate me from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus my Lord (Romans 8:38–39).
