You Are Needed
When I was a teenager, I remember being at a pivotal point in my life where I had a choice to make. Was I going to give my all to Jesus or was I going to carry on living a half-hearted christianity that was, quite frankly, making me feel a bit miserable.
It was then, that I had one of my very first visions from God. I saw a colt that was tied up and as I watched I saw drops of blood sever the rope and the colt was free.
The Lord showed me that the colt was me, and at the time I felt not only bound but a bit worthless and lonely.
He then took me to Luke 19 where we read about this colt. It was the young donkey that Jesus rode on into Jerusalem. He sent his disciples to retrieve and said, if any one asks why you are taking this colt say โโIt is needed for the Lord of All.โโ
“After Jesus had said this, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem.ย As he approached Bethphage and Bethanyย at the hill called the Mount of Olives,ย he sent two of his disciples, saying to them,ย โGo to the village ahead of you, and as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here.ย ย If anyone asks you, โWhy are you untying it?โ say, โThe Lord needs it.โโ
Luke 19:28-31 NIV
Many of us so easily disqualify ourselves from being used by the Lord. We feel tied up, wrapped in sin and insecurity, worthless and lonely. If thatโs you, Iโm here to tell you that His blood has set you free and forgiven you. Not just that, but the Lord needs you, He wants to use you. He has qualified you and placed gifts on the inside of you.
Itโs interesting that earlier on in Luke 19 Jesus teaches a parable about the talents.
The Master gives talents to 3 of His servants. The first 2 use their talent, and their investment saw a multiplication of their talents, but the 3rd hid his talent that he was given because he was fearful. (Luke 19:11-27)
Donโt belittle that which God has given you, donโt be fearful about โgetting it wrongโ or failing. God has placed His biggest investment in you…His son!
Now step into your God-given freedom, because God needs you to step up and step out into your God-given destiny.

Today, I declare โHere I am. Send me!โ (Isaiah 6:8)
I may not be perfect, but I am willingโand that is enough for Him to move through me. I offer my time, my gifts, my story, and my heart.
I am not too broken, too small, or too lateโbecause God delights in using the humble, the yielded, and the available.
God has placed something unique in me, and He is faithful to complete the work He started (Philippians 1:6).
Where He leads, I will follow.
What He asks, I will do.
What He gives, I will steward well.
I donโt rely on my strengthโI rely on His Spirit.
I donโt wait for perfect conditionsโI step forward in obedience.
