Leaving the Wilderness Behind

Leaving the Wilderness Behind

โ€œPaul and his companions travelled throughout the region of Phrygia and Galatia, having been kept by the Holy Spirit from preaching the word in the province of Asia. When they came to the border of Mysia, they tried to enter Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus would not allow them to. So they passed by Mysia and went down to Troas. During the night Paul had a vision of a man of Macedonia standing and begging him, โ€œCome over to Macedonia and help us.โ€

Acts 16:6-9

1000 Miles of God saying โ€œNo!โ€

In Acts 16 we find, during Paulโ€™s 2nd missionary journey, that the Holy Spirit had โ€œprevented (Paul and his friends) from ministeringโ€ and โ€œforbid them from enteringโ€ certain regions for around 1000 miles of their missionary travels.

After their first busy and fruitful missionsโ€™ journey, that must have felt like a restrictive pause in their ministries; a time of divine limitation and constraint.

But by verse 9, after the wilderness-time of restriction, suddenly visions from heaven erupt again, entire new doorways of opportunity open, and the Gospel explodes into Europe for the first time!

The pause led to acceleration and increase in Godโ€™s purposes.

I believe that we too, are coming out of a wilderness pit-stop time of pauses, restraint, purifying and adjustment, and we need to realise they were all designed to INCREASE us, not decrease or discourage us.

Time For The POWER of the Spirit

โ€œJesus, full of the Holy Spirit, left the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, where for forty days he was tempted by the devil โ€ฆ Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news about him spread through the whole countryside.โ€

 Luke 4:1, 13

Luke 4:14 tells us that Jesus came out of his 40-day wilderness pause โ€œin the power of the Spiritโ€. At this point his ministry went from the personal outpouring of the Spirit in His own life, to the full authority for healings, miracles and the spread of the Gospel!

The wilderness increases you and marks the changes of the season. It did for Jesus, the Apostle Paul and it will be same for you and I.

So, are you ready for the wilderness pause to have released INCREASE POWER & PURPOSE in and through your life? Cโ€™mon, letโ€™s get ready to adventure!

I declare that my season in the wilderness is ending…
Just as God led the children of Israel out of the wilderness into the promised land (Deuteronomy 8:7), I am stepping into a land of abundance, purpose, and divine fulfilment.

The days of lack, wandering, and uncertainty are behind me, for the Lord has gone before me to make a way where there seemed to be no way (Isaiah 43:19). In the wilderness, He provided for me, strengthened me, and taught me to trust Him fully. Now, I walk forward with a renewed spirit and a steadfast heart, knowing that He is faithful to complete the good work He began in me (Philippians 1:6).

I declare that every test I have faced is transforming into a testimony. Every dry place is becoming a wellspring of living water (John 4:14). The Lord has turned my mourning into dancing and clothed me with joy (Psalm 30:11).

I proclaim that I am entering a season of rest, restoration, and flourishing. The promises of God for my life are โ€œYesโ€ and โ€œAmenโ€ (2 Corinthians 1:20). I will not fear, for the Lord is with me; I will not be dismayed, for He is my God (Isaiah 41:10). He strengthens me, helps me, and upholds me with His righteous right hand.

As I come out of the wilderness, I declare that I walk in the fullness of my identity as a child of God, equipped, empowered, and anointed for every good work (Ephesians 2:10). My steps are ordered by the Lord, and His light shines brightly on my path (Psalm 37:23, Proverbs 4:18).

I proclaim freedom, joy, and victory in Jesus’ name! The wilderness has served its purpose, and now I move boldly into the land of promise, trusting in the unfailing love of my Saviour.
