Fully Supplied: Living From Heaven’s Promises
“His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.”
(2 Peter 1:3–4, NIVUK)
Heaven’s Supply Is Already Yours
Everything you need for a good, godly life has already been supplied to you by God Himself. That is not motivational hype — it is apostolic truth. Peter boldly declares that His divine power has given us everything we need (2 Peter 1:3). Not some things. Not future things. Everything.
Yet if we’re honest, there are days we feel spiritually weary, emotionally stretched, and painfully aware of our limitations. Situations seem to demand more than we have. But here’s the tension of faith: God doesn’t assess you by your feelings or current strength. He sees you as fully supplied — because of His power at work in you (2 Corinthians 12:9).
The Bridge Between Power and Weakness
So how do we bridge the gap between His unlimited supply and our very real weaknesses? Peter gives us the key: His very great and precious promises (2 Peter 1:4).
These promises are not inspirational quotes. They are divine access points. Through them, we are invited to do something staggering — participate in the divine nature (2 Peter 1:4). In other words, God has given us a way to partner with His own life, power, and reality.
We “download heaven” through promises. Across more than 5,000 years of Scripture, God has revealed His nature, His intent, and His unwavering willingness to save, heal, strengthen, provide, and transform. Every promise is an invitation to agreement.
When Truth Confronts the Facts
There are moments when facts shout loudly. Failure whispers that God is disappointed. But God declares, “For I know the plans I have for you… plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11). Time tells us we are weakening, yet He promises, “As your days, so shall your strength be” (Deuteronomy 33:25). Sickness speaks, but Jesus responds, “I am willing, be healed” (Matthew 8:3). Lack threatens, yet heaven answers, “My God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19).
Promises confront poor thinking. Truth confronts facts. God’s opinion stands higher than diagnosis, prognosis, and circumstance. And in that moment, we choose: will we let faith rise, or will we live as if God never spoke?
Training the Heart to Believe
Scripture reminds us that faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ (Romans 10:17). That’s why we read, declare, mutter, write, and meditate on the Word. We’re not being repetitive — we’re being intentional. We’re hammering away at weak, stinking thinking with divine truth.
Even Jesus modelled this. When He arrived at Jairus’ house and the girl was dead — and she truly was — He declared, “She is not dead but asleep” (Luke 8:52). Fact met truth. Heaven overruled earth. And life was restored.
Living From the Promises
Today, dig out the promises that confront your current battles. This is why we practice Believe and Confess Meditations. It’s how faith rises, facts bow, and heaven becomes visible on earth. Put His Word on your lips, and you’ll discover what it means to truly participate in the divine nature through His great and precious promises (2 Peter 1:4).
Believe & Confess Meditation & Declaration
I declare that through God’s divine power I already have everything I need for life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3). I choose to partner with His great and precious promises and participate in His divine nature (2 Peter 1:4). When weakness speaks, I receive His strength made perfect in me (2 Corinthians 12:9). I align my heart with God’s plans to give me hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). I confess that my strength matches my days according to His Word (Deuteronomy 33:25). I boldly proclaim that my God supplies all my needs from His riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).

I Declare
Speaking out the truth of God’s Word is powerful and will fight off mental disturbances, by saturating our minds and hearts with the Word of God. The Bible tells us in Hebrews 4:12 that God’s Word is a double-edged sword in our hands. Even Jesus used the spoken scriptures to silence the devil in times of temptation; how much more should we! (Matt 4)
