As For Me And My House

As For Me And My House

โ€œBut if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serveโ€ฆ But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.โ€
โ€” Joshua 24:15 (NIV)

There comes a moment, often right in the middle of lifeโ€™s battles and blessings, where a line must be drawn. Joshua had seen miracles โ€” seas parted, walls fall, manna fall from heaven. Heโ€™d seen God move in power, and heโ€™d seen people wander in doubt. Now, at the end of his life, he looks his nation in the eye and says, โ€œDecide.โ€

The world will always offer alternatives to devotion โ€” comfort, culture, convenience. The pull of idols hasnโ€™t changed; they may not be golden statues, but theyโ€™re still seductive. Screens, status, self. But Joshua refuses to be swept along by the tides of the moment. He plants a flag: โ€œAs for me and my houseโ€ฆโ€

That phrase is powerful. Itโ€™s not arrogance โ€” itโ€™s leadership. Itโ€™s covenant. Itโ€™s a father, a shepherd, a worshipper saying, โ€œEven if the whole world bows another way โ€” I will bow before the Lord.โ€ Itโ€™s a declaration of identity in an age of confusion. It is the sound of a heart that has settled the issue.

Following God isnโ€™t passive. It requires a choice โ€” not once in a revival moment, but daily, in the unseen decisions. What you allow in your home, what voices shape your thinking, how you let the Spirit lead your habits, your values, your atmosphere.

We donโ€™t drift into holiness. We decide into it. Joshua wasnโ€™t just protecting his own soul โ€” he was building a legacy. โ€œMy house,โ€ he said. Not just me โ€” but my children, my home, my future generations. With one sentence he carved a spiritual pathway for those who came after him.

So today โ€” draw the line again. Speak it out loud if you need to. Not to impress heaven but to align your heart.

As for me and my house โ€” we will serve the Lord.

Even when culture shifts.
Even when convenience whispers.
Even if you stand alone.

Heโ€™s worth it.
And your home will thank you for the stand you take today.

I declare with conviction and faith, โ€œAs for me and my household, we will serve the Lordโ€ (Joshua 24:15). I choose this dayโ€”and every dayโ€”to align my life, my home, and my decisions with the ways of God.

I declare that my heart is set on the Lord alone. I reject every competing voice, divided loyalty, and misplaced priority. My worship, obedience, and devotion belong to Him. I commit my household to the Lordโ€”our values, our conversations, our choices, and our future. Godโ€™s presence dwells in our home, and His peace rules within our walls.

We deeply value the power and importance of prayer. We know that what we are called to do on the frontlines cannot be accomplished without faithful people standing with us in prayer. Thatโ€™s why we launched 300 Shields โ€” a prayer initiative dedicated to building a strong foundation of spiritual covering.
