PROPHETIC WORD: God is bringing Acceleration!
On the morning of Sunday 3rd January 2021 I awoke to a vivid vision, where I was accelerating speedily down a road. I sped through valleys and over hills in the vision, even at one point rushing past faces on the roadside filled with anger, wickedness and evil, as if flying through some frightening fairground ride. Whatever I faced, the speeding pace did not change, as I accelerated through the blurred landscape, effortlessly passing every obstacle or distraction that appeared.
It reminded me of when I play video games with my young son. I’m pretty hopeless at the racing games, so frequently find myself not only last, but lagging way behind, where even the dawdlers are ahead of me, out of sight beyond the horizon! But written into the game is a merciful algorithm, where stragglers like me are graciously picked up and begin to speed forward, effortlessly fast-tracked, sometimes even overtaking the slowcoaches that had been beating me, until I find myself plonked down in a decent position in the race, without even the need for steering, skill or dexterity!
Once I had fully waked, I opened my “Daily Light” app on my phone, something I habitually do first thing in the morning, to read the day’s grouping of themed scripture. Having had the vision of speeding along a road, I was shocked to see the 3rd January’s reading stated:
He led them on a level road. – Ps 107:7 NET
“The Lord found [Jacob] in a desolate land, in an empty wasteland where animals howl. He continually guarded him and taught him; he continually protected him like the pupil of his eye. Like an eagle that stirs up its nest, that hovers over its young, so the Lord spread out his wings and took him, he lifted him up on his pinions. The Lord alone was guiding him.”—“Even when you are old, I will take care of you, even when you have gray hair, I will carry you. I made you and I will support you; I will carry you and rescue you.” He restores my strength. He leads me down the right paths for the sake of his reputation. Even when I must walk through the darkest valley, I fear no danger, for you are with me; your rod and your staff reassure me. The Lord will continually lead you; he will feed you even in parched regions. He will give you renewed strength, and you will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring that continually produces water.”—For God, our God, is our defender forever! He guides us!—“Who is a teacher like him?”
I think God is speaking!
Acceleration is Coming!
In similar fashion, I believe God is about to release a gracious acceleration upon many people, that is going to fast-track you forward in His mercy. Where you have felt behind, delayed, stuck and confused, the mercy of God is going to unveil an acceleration, that will be a redemption, giving you back time wasted and plans lost.
Joel 2:25-30 says:
“So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten,
The crawling locust,
The consuming locust,
And the chewing locust,
My great army which I sent among you.
You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied,
And praise the name of the Lord your God,
Who has dealt wondrously with you;
And My people shall never be put to shame.
Then you shall know that I am in the midst of Israel:
I am the Lord your God
And there is no other.
My people shall never be put to shame.”
God is going to “restore the years the locust has eaten” to you – He will redeem the wasted time, make sense of the paused plans, and unveil unexpected things in unexpected ways, that bring to you out into fulfilment and purpose in a way that will make the difficulties of recent times worth it. Expect the unexpected to take place soon!
The enemy meant it for harm, “but God meant it for good” (Genesis 50:20) is how God is going to use this season, turning the pauses, the losses, the confusion and the delays for your good. You will look back and realise that while many things have felt on pause, God has actually been working a course-correction and an acceleration for you behind the scenes, so that you would not miss a step or a beat of ministry. There are surprises, treats, new mercies and fresh grace that will appear in this time, so much so that “your heart will throb and swell with joy!” (Isaiah 60:5).
Like Elijah, tidy up your mantle ready to run (1 Kings 18:46), for acceleration is coming!

Thanks for this Jarrod. I, too, was given the word from Joel concerning the locusts way back in1977 when I came to faith. And the one from Ps 107 resonates. Being gray and into my 70’s! Also, I will sure need a long life to restore…..even a 10th of what the enemy ‘appears’ to have stolen with his wily ways, ever since. But Hey! That can all change and be made up for in the blink of an eye.

This message is a great source of comfort for me for a year that for me has been full of trials and not just covid 19 and where God has drawn me aside but I believe it is for a greater purpose. In 2003, I came to faith on an Alpha Course and the main scripture that drew me into making a decision was that the Lord would restore the lost years that the locusts had eaten away. Great encouragement for me and I’d like to claim this prophesy to be fulfilled over my own situation and circumstances. Plus I am doing a course and the teaching has just moved into acceleration for releasing the students into supernatural ministry. No coincidence I think!
