DAY TWO – What Transition Feels Like

DAY TWO – What Transition Feels Like

Almost every prophet I know, from the UK, Europe, Africa, the USA and Australasia is saying we are entering a new era. Many were prophesying it before 2020 (See my book “500” written in 2017), but the quiet murmurs have turned to trumpet blasts in the last 3 years.

So, headline news: We are entering a new era of God’s purposes on the earth.

In order to do that, He is shifting us from the old, towards the new. And that is the place we’re all in right now.

It’s called TRANSITION.

And it’s UNCOMFORTABLE!

A brief hunt online for synonyms for Transition include “change, move, passage, transformation, conversion, adaptation, adjustment, alteration, changeover, metamorphosis, shift, switch, jump”.

We are being changed from one era to another. Shifted from one set of circumstances to another. Transformed from one frame, to a new one. We’re being converted, adjusted, adapted, altered. Ouch! No wonder many of us feel pretty uncomfortable!

Prophetic Minister Nate Johnston writes of this season of transition “everywhere I look I still see people in the middle of their own transition, walking around discouraged and feeling abandoned by God. They followed His leading but feel shipwrecked; they have moved at the sound of His voice but now it feels like He is silent.”

He goes on to say that we need to understand what happens in transition times: “Many times the wilderness is the very place God uses to incubate and nurture the greatest dreams of our lives. It may look like the complete opposite—it may be as far removed from what you imagined—but it is the environment that is used to MULTIPLY you and prepare you for launch.”*

Transition can be hard. As my friend Craig Cooney says, “People say when God closes one door, He opens another – but they don’t talk about the hallway in the middle, where you’re sometimes left waiting for the door to open!”

Many are waiting – having left the old, but aren’t in the new yet.

So I say to you…

Hold on! God is with you. Don’t quit. He’s leading you through these turbulent waters to new places, new adventures, better days and bigger plans! You will get there if you don’t give up.

MEDITATE ON THESE SCRIPTURES

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.” Isaiah 43:2

“Even when the way goes through Death Valley, I’m not afraid. When you walk at my side. Your trusty shepherd’s crook makes me feel secure.” Psalm 23:4 (The Message)

“If God is for us, who can ever be against us? … I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:31, 38-39 (NLT)

500 years after the dawn of the Reformation, Jarrod Cooper asks if we are entering a new Church Age? It would seem, from a study of Biblical and Church history, that every 500 years some great adjustment and development of God’s workings on earth takes place. If this is true then that means we are a generation destined to walk with God at another pivotal turning point in history.

Filled with prophecy, thought provoking teaching, a passion for revival and a longing to understand the masterplan of the Father, “500” will take you on a journey of discovery that will help you understand your place in history, and helps us all ask the question: “What must we do next?
