Reaching the poor at Revive Church

Every week Revive Church members touch over 2000 lives caught in poverty or social depravation with both practical help and the riches of the Gospel. I’d love you to join us in increasing that impact….

Proverb 31:8-9 says “Speak up for those who have no voice, for the justice of all who are dispossessed. Speak up, judge righteously, and defend the cause of the oppressed and needy”

From feeding programmes for poor children, to midwifery, sexual health, education, support for flood victims and disaster relief locally and globally; from adoption law to prison reform and Bible translation for unreached tribal groups, New Lifers have discovered that any true encounter with God, leaves you with a passion to help humanity.

Here are some of the ways we are currently reaching lives – would you join us practically, financially, prayerfully?

Colombia ChildCare UK
Every week over 1500 of the poorest children of Colombia are fed, educated, given a medical programme and taught the gospel, in half a dozen of New Lifer David Taylor’s schools & centres along the Colombian Coast and up into the desert. This “Kidnap Capital of the World” has been reached by David since he devoted his life to alleviation of poverty and is run in the UK from the head office at New Life Church. See Colombia ChildCare UK’s website here and get involved.

Heart for Justice
From midwifery, feeding programmes and health care in South America to justice, anti-trafficking, adoption support and orphan care, Leonie Webster has been influencing lives powerfully for many years. Currently working alongside the Orphan Justice Centre at iHOP in the US, you can find the Heart for Justice website here.

Money Management
Locally our money management team, giving help and support to those caught in debt, have been able to transform lives and release the poor from multiple tens of thousands of pounds of debt in recent years. If you are struggling with debt, or if you want to join our team of voluntary advisors, check out their webpage here.

New Life Christian Academy
In Hull we offer a brilliant education at our own school that Ofsted have rated “Good” or “Outstanding” in all areas. Bursary’s are available for those who can’t afford the reasonable fees, assuring the poorest of families that we are here to do all we can to give the best start in life to Hull’s children, whoever they are! Visit the website for more information or to join our staff.

Revive Academy of Performing Arts
One of our newest ventures offers free performing arts classes to children and teenagers, ensuring that families that would not be able to afford such clubs and activities can enjoy them! Classes in dance, acting, singing and other stage craft are available in long and short term courses. Visit the website for more information.

New Life Support
Our newest development is a partner work with New Life Support, doing youth work and other ventures in deprived areas of East Yorkshire, including Hull, Goole and Driffield, and even in these first few months we’ve seen many saved and great developments across the region, as we run youth clubs, groups, outreach work, fun events and educational help.

In years to come we expect to be further involved in poverty relief, global missions, care for the elderly and medical support in a variety of ways. If you want to be part of that, let us know.

At the very least you will notice a constant stream of fundraising quizzes, meals, coffee mornings, auctions, fairs, shows and presentation events. Do pledge your support by joining in the fun and raising some finance. Info for all these comes through our weekly E:News for New Life members (sign up here at the bottom of our homepage). Together, we can make a difference.

  1. Great post! Fantastic that you’re doing so much for people who have so little financially. Praying they give God praise for all that you do.
